Our Story

Named for a Warm Wind

SOLANO is named after the warm Mediterranean wind that blows north across the Iberian peninsula in the late summer — the kind of breeze that lifts a linen sleeve and curls around a glass of cold vermouth. We built our house in that same spirit.

Materials

From the Coast, to the Loom

Our linens are woven in family-run mills in Biella and Lake Como. Our leathers are vegetable-tanned in Tuscany and hand-braided in small workshops along the Adriatic. Our cashmere comes from storied spinners in northern Italy, finished in a 14-gauge weight that breathes in the heat and warms in the evening.

We work with people who care more about the wash on a fabric than the quarter's projections. The result is clothing that ages slowly and travels well.

Inspiration

A Permanent Holiday

We design for the long lunch, the slow ferry, the late aperitivo. For the man who would rather be over-prepared and under-dressed. For the suitcase that holds three pieces and still feels complete.

Every season we return to the same coast — Liguria, Capri, Mallorca, the Côte d'Azur — and let it teach us how to dress.
